Robert Annable was bad hurt in Denby pit on Saturday Feb. 2nd 1856. Robert Annable died on the 12th of Feb. 1856 aged 22 years and 11 months. He died at the infirmary. Mary Fisher left Horsley and went to live at Nottingham on the 12th day of March 1856. Alexander Annable and Hannah Parkin was married at Horsley on Easter Thursday March 27th 1856. James Rodgers was married March 31st 1856. Fanney Shipstone died May 10th 1856 aged 86 years. William Kerry died June 2nd 1856 aged 33 years. Mary Welchs husband. Thomas Foulk the son of Richard and Mary Foulk was married on the 7th day of June 1856. Thomas Holmes died June 17th 1856 aged 87 years. Luke Abbott died on the 5th day of July 1856 aged 45 years and about 11 month. Sally Woodhouses first child was born on [unclear] July 9th day 1856. [unclear] Rebecca Seal the wife of John Seal died July 31st 1856 aged 58. Our old house was pulled down on the 5th day of August 1856 by Sam, Are? Tro. Hannah Whilton the daughter of Henry and Lucy Whilton was born on Saturday Aug. 29th 1856. Samuel Smith died on the 18th day of October 1856 aged 67 years and 9 months. Jane Welch's first child was born on the 11th Nov. 1856. Name Clement. William Needham took a house on rent at Belper Pottery of Mr. Bourne on the 24th day of Nov. 1856. Francis Taylor and Sabrah Spaulton was married on Monday May 11th 1857 at Horsley. Mrs. Mee the wife of Samuel Mee the brick maker died May 11th aged 48 years. Alfred Taylor was sentenced 18 months imprisonment December 14th 1857 and Jos'h Sadler 4 years transportation same time. Joseph Spaulton and Hannah Taylor was married on the 3rd day of December 1857. Joseph Taylor died June 2nd 1858 aged 28 years. French Lane. Two children killed with Copestakes cart at Kilbourne on the 4th day of June 1858. Henry Butlers child died on the 25th day of July 1858 Horsley Wake Sunday, it was scalded on wensday July 21st in the 2nd year of her age, an inquest was held. Miss Bourne and Mr. Chadbourn was married at Denby on the 10th day of August 1858. A most terrible storm that ever was known in the memory of man, an ash tree was split in the Dufcot and many other awful things, it happened on Thursday afternoon August 12th 1858. In Horsley parish the corn was all got in August 1858 a very good harvest. A new Weather cock was put on Horsley Church on the 31st of Aug. 1858. William Moore died at Longeaton on the 14th day of Oct. 1858 aged 67 years, buried at Horsley. Samuel Butler and Eliz'th Foulk was married on Goodfriday April 22nd 1859 at Horsley Church, ringers 5s. Mary Johnson died May 6th 1859 aged 50 years, wife of John Johnson. Ellen Butler born on Monday the 9th day of May 1859. The daughter of Henry and Emma Butler Horsley. Mr Bournes new engine began to work on Saturday May 14th day 1859 a quarter before 1 oclock Richard Hill of Holbrook moor died May 15th day 1859 Aged 70 years. Martin left Mr. Abbotts on the 9th of Jan. 1860 and went to Mr. Middletons. Benjamine Stables and Eliz'th Rodgers was married with a license at Horsley on the 31st of January 1860. A great flood swept a deal of hay away on the 13th day of August 1860, Rodgers lost some hay by flood. George Moor son of Rob't and Lydia Moor was drowned on Thursday August 30th 1860 aged 3 years and 7 weeks. July and August 1860 was the wettest time ever known this last sixty years. Charles Annables son John aged 20 and three more boys was killed in Kilborne Coal Pit on Monday morning September 3rd 1860. A most awful accident. Thompson was drowned in Bottle brook near Kilbourne pit on Saturday night March the 2nd or Sunday morning the 3rd 1861. Water brought Aug. 26th about 10 o'clock at night. William Wheatley was burnt to death in Kilbourn pit by wildfire on Monday September 5th 1864 aged 57 years, much lamented. Edward and George Parkers house was pulled down July 31st 1864, and a new one was built the same year in October and November 1864. A general tea drinking at Horsley as a rejoicing on the water works was held September 15th 1864. Horsley was deckorated from end to end.
